Covid
It's been a while since our last post. We had a great time in St. Louis but ended up getting Covid sometime while we were there. Kami was first with symptoms and took the home test that came back positive. It has taken it's toll with tiring easily but we are getting stronger each day.
Exploration
I posted about the Archway in St Louis and starting point for Lewis & Clark's expedition of the Louisiana purchase. We didn't realize our journey would follow their travels along the Missouri river but did going up thru Missouri, Nebraska, Iowa, and South Dakota. Kami and I just laughed as we saw the Lewis & Clark signs on the interstate as we traveled northward.
Since St. Louis
From St. Louis, we stayed at Weston Bend State Park 30 miles North of Kansas City on the Missouri River. Park boast Lewis & Clark documented stops along the river. We did go into the town of Weston that had a very interesting salvage yard that looked like Sanford and Son. The owners used its junk/antiques to have a bar, wedding chapel, Airbnb, and huge salvage barn.

Stumbled upon Salvage at bottom of town of Weston. |

Bar had barber chairs. |

Back of bar had Volkswagon Bug as table bench. |

Behind bar, back half of Bug! |

Airbnb behind bar. |
From Weston we did 4 one-niters on our way to Chamberlain, South Dakota. Stayed at another orchard, played golf, sculpture park, and Walmart (needed groceries and it's free to stay).

I think I've grown! The apple thinks so.

Air was filled with Cottonwood tree seeds. |

Cottonwood seeds all over the ground. Very much like cotton. Soft to the touch. |

Very large metal horse. |

Fish Bowl, 25 feet high. |

Had a few strange images in the field.

Prairie Dog poop!
South Dakota has been on our bucket list from the beginning of planning this trip and hasn't disappointed. The land is picturesque green rolling hills and plains with trees sprinkled thru out and the weather has been in the 70's during the day and 50's at night. My first time I went to West Virginia and I said it's God's Country. Well, South Dakota is God's Paradise. If it wasn't for the harsh winters this place would be loaded with people. I guess every paradise has it's drawbacks.
Next blog will include Chamberlain, (SD) Badlands (SD), Sturgis (SD), Deadwood (SD), and Devil's Tower (Close Encounters of the Third Kind) in Wyoming.
Looking good you two!
