Family and Friends!
What started the idea of traveling the country? Covid? Our jobs? The need to see our beautiful country and be adventurous while still young enough to physically do what we want?
D: ALL OF THE ABOVE!
Kami and I started our plan with selling our house in April 2021 and moving down to South Beach Apartments to enjoy the oceanfront, along with planning our trip, before we roll out April 2022. We have thoroughly enjoyed our time at the beach with walking, riding bikes, spending time on the beach with beverages, Kami's jogging on the boardwalk, and the plentiful restaurants and bars.
Next step was purchase of travel traveler that suited the RAM 1500 and our needs for the journey. Picture above shows our Keystone Outback Ultra-Light purchased June 30, 2021😁. As we shopped different trailer options, Kami liked this one the best. Big enough for our trip but small enough to get into national and state parks that have length restrictions. Couple of features we liked the most is the slide out with theater seating and 50" flat screen tv.....we do like our shows.
We are using RV Trip Wizard to map our trip. This app makes planning that much easier. On the map we have the trip planned up to Albuquerque, New Mexico (Hot Air Balloon Festival in October). I started working on Florida since all the snowbirds like to be down there from January thru March and gobbling up all the RV sites. The end of our trip will culminate with the marriage of our son Konner to his beautiful bride to be Hannah. We couldn't be happier to end on that note!
Stay tuned, first day of trip is April 27th to Mystic Farm and Distillery outside of Durham, NC. We will keep the blog updated as we hit new campsites.
